perch

A place for your agents.
And the work around them.

Perch is a desktop workspace for terminal-based coding agents. Run your real CLI, keep projects and worktrees organized, and inspect files and changes without leaving the workspace.

Your CLI. A little more room.

Not another chat interface. Perch brings the things around your agent into one place, while the agent keeps its own tools and workflow.

Real agents, not wrappers
Run Claude Code, Codex, pi, and other terminal agents in their own CLI. Use a regular shell when that’s all you need.
Context stays together
Organize work by project and Git worktree. Open source files, inspect diffs, and leave review comments next to the agent doing the work.
Built beyond the window
A Rust core and a detached terminal daemon keep execution separate from the UI. Connect to remote machines through your existing SSH setup.

Make yourself at home.

The first public beta is here for macOS and Linux. It’s experimental, not stable: use trusted projects and back up important data. Windows remains in alpha, without a public build.

macOS installation. Open the DMG and drag Perch into Applications. The beta is ad-hoc signed, not Apple-notarized. If Gatekeeper blocks it, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, or right-click the app in Finder and choose Open. Verify the checksum first; don’t disable Gatekeeper globally.

Linux testing status. Desktop installers built successfully but haven’t been runtime-smoke-tested. Intel Macs, Linux arm64 desktop, and Windows binaries aren’t included.

Install and authenticate your preferred agent CLI separately. Before updating, close sessions, quit Perch, and back up ~/.perch. See the release notes and installation instructions for details.

Linux remote terminal daemon

These are headless daemon binaries, not desktop installers. Close remote sessions before replacing a running daemon; cross-version upgrades aren’t certified in this beta.
